Lambchop - Is A Woman (Deluxe Edition)Regular price £21.00
This was the at-the-time-disappointing follow up to the splendid Nixon album where Lambchop eschewed the floaty country soul and made what seemed to be a samey set of piano-led torch songs. Yet time has a way of changing things and Is a Woman is now seen as something of a modern classic and is another oddball but pleasant diversion in a career that could be defined by the word idiosyncratic.
Lambchop - What Another Man Spills (20th Anniversary Edition)Regular price £22.00
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Lambchop’s 1998 album What Another Man Spills is being pressed to vinyl for the first time after it’s original release 20 years ago! Remastered from the original DAT, the 2-LP and CD reissue features a refreshed artwork, and a limited version comes on clear and yellow vinyl. What Another Man Spills (1998) represents a milestone in Lambchop’s career, but not in the modern sense of a ‘landmark’ release. Building on foundations that had once sounded almost literally creaky, it expands upon the tentative manoeuvres they’d undertaken with the previous year’s Thriller (1997) and gestures confidently towards its brassy successor, Nixon, which would arrive in 2000 to wild acclaim and previously unimaginable commercial success. Liner Notes by Kurt Wagner.

Portable Radio - Portable RadioRegular price £15.00
For fans of harmonies and power pop, the debut album from Portable Radio is the natural heir to the Beach Boys when they had beards, The Zombies, Carole King, Bee Gees, Weyes Blood, Drugdealer, Hall & Oates and all that solid gold pop we love!
It's worth pointing out that our very own Mof is in the band, but we're not being biased, honest! Limited run, so don't hang about for this!
Sprinters - SprintersRegular price £12.00
Sprinters is the brain-child of Manchester-based songwriter Neil Jarvis. Originally hailing from Wigan, Jarvis has been releasing music under his own name since 2012 and is a regular fixture on the Manchester music scene. After years spent playing solo, he slowly started to recruit a backing band for live shows before settling with a permanent band and forming Sprinters in late 2015. These are Jarvis himself, Jon Hodson (bass), Mark Stevenson (drums) and Jason Hughes (guitar). Over the past two years, Sprinters have forged a reputation as one of the most thrilling live acts in the city, and have played support slots for high profile acts such as The Monochrome Set, Chastity Belt, Holy Wave and La Luz, as well as shows all over the UK under their own steam.
'Sprinters' is the band's first studio effort, and was recorded (mostly) live in Wigan throughout 2016 with friend of the band, local engineer Ste Jones. Comprised of a selection of songs from Jarvis's solo albums and new material, the record proved to be a labour of love, taking just under 12 months to piece together. Sprinters have emerged triumphant with a pure departure record, heavy on hooks, melodic and lyrical interplay, and a more clear and honed sound than their previous lo- fi recordings. Jarvis cites some of his major influences for the process as: The Replacements, Pavement, Neil Young, Ariel Pink and The Velvet Underground.

Talking Heads - Fear Of MusicRegular price £17.00
Nowadays 1979’s ‘Fear Of Music’ is largely remembered as the Talking Heads album with ‘Life During Wartime’ and ‘Heaven’ on it - probably something to do with the fact that they are the only two songs from the record that made it into 1984’s ‘Stop Making Sense’ (though ‘Cities’ was included in the extended version of the film). This legacy does ‘Fear Of Music’ a great disservice - sure, those are both absolutely top tracks, but the whole album really is a triumph of the airless agit-funk style that the group had lasered in on throughout 1977’s ‘77’ and 1978’s ‘More Songs About Buildings And Food’. It also bridged the gap between those LPs and the transcendent polyrhythms of 1980's ‘Remain In Light’. This is Talking Heads at their most frantic, paranoid and couched, an effect heightened by Brian Eno’s daring production. The frenzied ecstasies of ‘I Zimbra’, ‘Animals’, ‘Memories Can't Wait’ etc. are pretty much unparalleled in the post-punk era.
The Bluetones - A New Athens RSD 2021Regular price £25.00
The Hipshakes - Sounds We FoundRegular price £16.00
Yes, here's the long-lost second album by garage punk hit-machines The Hipshakes! Just over six years after it was recorded, finally a full release for Sounds We Found. It's the Hipshakes first attempt to record in actual Medium Fidelity. Played at super speed with their usual ultra-excellent songwriting ability on show, life, death and how to party are all dissected, usually in under two minutes.
Former teen sensations from small market town, civil parish, capital of the Peak District and home of the Pudding - Bakewell - The Hipshakes have been friends since before they can remember. They bought instruments at 15 and have been playing together ever since. Early efforts were snotty-nosed and short, brilliant and bratty. With advancing years their noses may have dried up but the hits haven't. Formed in 2001, their first slew of records and tours of Europe and America were unleashed between 2005 and 2008, calling in at South By Southwest and Gonerfest. 2014 unbelievably saw them tour the UK for the first time. On this record, they are a classic three-piece combo of guitar, drums and bass: everyone writes songs and everyone sings them. They have travelled the world, played hundreds of gigs, released dozens of records and been cheered and jeered in roughly equal measure. Live, they are a ferociously exhilarating, mega-mondo smash-hit pop-fountain.

Weezer - Invasion Of Privacy (The Black Album)Regular price £20.50
It had to happen at some point. Yes, after Red, Green, Blue and the rest, we now have Weezer’s Black Album. Technically this thing is called Invasion Of Privacy but we can pretty much guarantee no-one will be referring to it thus five years from now. This LP has been produced by Dave Sitek and sees the band going for that sort of nerdy white-boy funk thing that has been tried by everyone from Nickleback to Jack Penate over the past few years. We could have seen that coming too.
