Darko - Bonsai MammothRegular price £15.00
David Byrne - American UtopiaRegular price £19.00
'American Utopia' is the first solo record in 14 years from iconic polymath David Byrne. The album comes as part of a larger project entitled 'Reasons To Be Cheerful' - a series of works that strives to antidote pervasive social and political anxieties. In keeping with this, 'American Utopia' questions realities of contemporary culture with playful writing that shifts perspectives and favours optimism over despairing pessimism.
Being the product of working with 25 collaborators, 'American Utopia' feels like something of a sonic patchwork, but doesn't ever feel sprawling, neatly tied together by Byrne's inimitable sense of melody and harmony. 'American Utopia' doesn't offer any transcendental conclusions on how to save the world, but advocates positive and unusual ways of looking at the world around us, and with a career underpinned by a singular and indescribable quirkiness, Byrne is the ideal candidate the job.

Deirdre Wilson Tabac - S/TRegular price £21.50
Recorded in Philadelphia in 1969, The Deirdre Wilson Tabac's sole album is a beautiful blend of funk, jazz and soulful pop. Possessing the complex grooves, thrilling breaks and ethereal weirdness that The Rotary Connection pedalled so brilliantly, the LP failed to connect with audiences upon its original release. In the decades since, it has deservedly attracted a considerable cult following. However, almost inevitably, it has become increasingly tricky to pick up a copy in good condition for anything less than eye-watering sums. As such, we're delighted to present the first officially licensed vinyl reissue of this undoubted masterpiece of freaky funk-rock.
Limited to just 500 copies.

Dizzy Gillespie - On The French RiveriaRegular price £16.00
Culled from sessions recorded live in France and at a New York studio, Dizzy on the French Riviera marked Dizzy Gillespie’s first incursion into the realm of bossa nova (he had already been a pioneering force in the development of Latin jazz). The album features backing by small groups ranging from quintets to septets, and boasts such stars as pianist Lalo Schifrin (who arranged all of the music here), and saxophonist Charlie Ventura. By 1962 (and especially after the appearance of Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd’s Jazz Samba), a true bossa nova craze started in the United States.
It wouldn’t be fair to say that Dizzy jumped on the bossa bandwagon as a commercial move. He had been among the first to combine Latin (and above all Cuban) rhythms with jazz in the mid 1940s, adding spectacular conga drummer Chano Pozo to his band, and he toured South America extensively, playing with as many talented musicians from every possible style as he could find. Always interested in exotic rhythms from all over the world, Gillespie embraced Lalo Schifrin when he met him in Buenos Aires, and asked him to compose for his band, in addition to arranging pieces from other composers.
Doheny, Ned - Ned DohenyRegular price £21.50
Most recent converts to the world of Ned Doheny discovered his genius via Hard Candy or Prone. Our introduction was by way of "Postcards From Hollywood", a cult song from his stunning, self-titled debut album. Beautifully poignant, it can only be found on said LP. And whilst his later albums are rightly revered, "Postcards" - and the 9 additional tracks that comprise this exceptional opening statement - represent a criminally overlooked gem. Original vinyl copies of this album are extremely rare - and correspondingly expensive - so we're thrilled to present the first-ever vinyl reissue of a true lost classic.

drøne - reversing into the futureRegular price £8.00
Prior to the release of their 4th album later this year, we are delighted to announce we are re-issuing all of the first 3 releases by drøne on cassette for the first time.
We begin with reversing into the future, initially released on vinyl in 2016 through Pomperipossa Records. Field recordings, short wave radio, modular synth all combine to form an enticing, arresting, moving journey of electrically-charged dissonance, drones and electronic melodies. It´s a unique jewel.
A very hot day in the hills above Los Angeles… only possible to work in the mornings because of the sweltering afternoon heat, so all a bit frantic, but with a kink in time. There is no wifi-controlled air conditioning; the car is electric-powered and charging up. It has barely rained for months, (if not years) and the hoses are working overtime. Its an analogue session; Mark’s modular synth set up is working furiously and overheating. We are pushing sounds through and seeing what works… and things gradually take shape. The forms seem to determine themselves; how much control do we have? How much do we want? Some peculiar things start to happen and the haze bends. Some of the sounds seem alive and are quick to reform as we struggle to contain them, like trying to stuff snakes into a bag. The sounds moan and sing, forming their own phonemes.
drøne are Mark Van Hoen and Mike Harding.
A limited run of 50 cassette tapes worlwide.
Dylan LeBlanc - Cautionary TaleRegular price £17.00
Third record from Dylan LeBlanc, following on from two releases on a major label that apparently didn’t work out so well for him. Lots of the material on Cautionary Tale deals with his consequent drunken sadness, his impressive voice carrying the melancholy very well indeed.
Dylan LeBlanc - RenegadeRegular price £19.00
Renegade, the new album from acclaimed musician Dylan LeBlanc, is released on ATO Records. Produced by Grammy Award winning Dave Cobb, the album features ten new songs including the first single and title track. Recorded at Cobb’s RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN, the 10-song album feature LeBlanc and his longtime band, The Pollies. Of the album, LeBlanc shares, “I wanted to write the same type of songs that matched the atmosphere the band and I were bringing live. So, I started with ‘Renegade,’ which was fitting since I felt myself going in a new, more intense direction with this record. In the studio, I let go almost absolutely and let Dave Cobb do his work. It was a different experience for me—how focused Cobb was and how quickly we would get live takes down. Mostly in one or two takes. Never more than three. It left me spinning at how quickly it all came together. With beautiful gear and a keen ear, it was fun to work with my best friends alongside Cobb. Over the course of ten days Renegade was complete and ready for mastering. And I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.”

Elvis Presley - The Classic Christmas AlbumRegular price £19.00
endorphin - its got this vitality that sort of feels like its half-realRegular price £8.00
A 20-minute ambient radioplay set in the deepest recesses of a South Manchester winter 10 or so years ago.
A deep dive into the isolation, the darkness, and the thick fog, through all the estates from Lancashire Hill to Deneway Court. Three L.S. Lowry stick figures on the run from the every day, a huge viaduct cutting across the land and a lighthouse buried underneath, the destination they are trying to reach. Speak, memory.
Heavily inspired by NWW, The Shadow Ring, The Fall, two sides of pain-killer drones revisited and revised endlessly from endorphin, one half of 1-800-ICEMAN/Grimescapes.
Eppu Kaipainen - PoiuRegular price £8.00
Helsinki based producer Eppu Kaipainen returns to Decaying Spheres. Poiu explores how music can change our perception of time, with an investigation into the Eno-creed of ambient; when something is both ignorable and focusable, lending itself to an amorphous feeling of time.
The seven tracks convey a sense of temporal empathy, reflecting on life’s instabilities, it’s constant precursors; a dramatic change, a shift, a turnaround, a relapse. The album explores both the significant and insignificant. The juxtaposition of the momentous and the monotonous. Like the beauty that can be found in a typical week, the ritualistic nature of stability and routine is as essential as those more pivotal moments.
Poiu is a collection of long-form drones that elegantly interprets these themes through considered tape loops, saturated synths and layered modular sequences, creating a lush atmospheric sound that never quite lets the underlying darkness come to the forefront.
Limited edition cassette tape - only 25 copies worldwide.
